Phase 4…

March 10th, we moved out of our house. I am now settling into transient living. Pausing in our van between house sitting for Space, to spread out and continue my paper explorations.

Pause, Space and the gaps in-between:

What is not there, stimulates curiosity. Objects can present an opportunity for Pause.

It is where the gaps are, that allows the light to shine through. ‘All the flowers are for me’ by Anila Quayyum Agha, exhibition at Kew Gardens 13th May 2023 (image 5 below).

Space to create form: Translated into metaphor, the descriptions I use stimulate possibilities for experiential Wellbeing sessions.

A visit to ‘The Lake Crossing’ at Kew Gardens. Designed by architect John Pawson. A drive passed the Reggio Emilia Mediopadana Station, Italy. Designed by Santiago Calatrava. Space in design and the shape of light are inspiring my creative process.

Some of my explorations: Photos that are formed to create space to breathe. The reduction of the image to the simplicity of the white form.

I am being drawn more to the simplicity of light, white and shape.

The final stage planned:

Consolidate my Research and Development journey by talking to a professional paper artist living and working in Wales about Process.  Visiting another Welsh heritage site to finalise ideas for Wellbeing resources.  Create a short film to share my project journey.

  1. I find your blog interesting Sian, I especially enjoyed the “missing” poster from the wall observation. Pause is an interesting idea and often overlooked or undervalued.
