Inspiration

The Japanese term Ma is described as a Pause, Space or the Gaps in between. The power of silence, the space where something used to be, rituals we create to make us stop. Objects and images can represent these.

‘Ma’ is sometimes described as the feeling we get when we are so engrossed, time stands still: Drawing, observing and creating.

Inspired by domestic objects, architecture and light my art process currently involves cutting and forming paper while (where possible) keeping the paper intact.

The connection with Pause/breath, Gaps/space and the creative process have the potential of inspiring Creative Wellbeing workshops and projects.
